Power BI Data Scientist

Location: London, typically 2 days per week in office

Type: Contract - maternity cover (8-months) 

Summary: A collaborative Power BI data scientist with a flair for design to deliver high-quality visualisations within our data products. An opportunity to work with truly big data (a typical dashboard would be based on hundreds of millions or billions of transactions) in a fully cloud environment with a best-in-class data platform.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to continue the development of our customer-facing visualisation products, which give a granular view of player behaviours, visualise machine learning outputs, and report on the ROI of other products.

 

 What You’ll Do 

  • Develop/Publish/Schedule interactive reports to show player/game activity
  • Connect, import and transform data
  • Design data schemas/models
  • Maintain/update databases
  • Document pipelines/workflows
  • Show insights to broader and non-technical teams
  • Work collaboratively with the engineering, platform, product and wider business teams
  • Work within a DataOps framework

About You 

  • You are comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity and can demonstrate the ability to change and adapt as our ‘start-up’ grows.
  • You have a degree in a numerate discipline
  • You have a strong understanding of big data management and strong analytical thinking to translate data into visuals and reports
  • Proficiency in DAX queries and advanced level calculations in PowerBI
  • Proficiency in SQL and Database management
  • You enjoy and have experience working on Big Data problems
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (SQL, Data Factory, Data Lakes)
  • If you have some knowledge of PySpark or Scala, this will be an advantage
  • You have sound interpersonal skills and enjoy collaborating with others
  • You have excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills, with a well-structured and analytical approach
  • You are structured in documentation and annotation, ensuring usability for others
  • You are highly commercially aware, particularly in prioritising time
