About the Role

This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative environment where you will be focused on improving and maintaining our internal Azure Platform (“Anthemetrics”.) This will include writing pySpark ETL pipelines and designing ADF jobs. During your time with us you will have the chance to get involved in the following areas:  

  • Design and build modern data pipelines and data streams
  • Design and build data service APIs
  • Expose data to end users using Power BI
  • Review current business practices, processes and procedures and identify future
    opportunities for leveraging Microsoft Azure services.
  • Support the planning and implementation of data platform services including sizing,
    configuration, and needs assessment
  • Implement effective metrics and monitoring processes
  • Work as a trusted advisor to our clients

About You 

  • You have at least two years experience programming in pySpark. Working in Databricks would be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge & hands-on experience in Azure Logic Apps flow and Azure Data Lake
    Storage.
  • You have a degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering or similar
    (Masters or PHD an advantage)
  • You enjoy and have experience working on Big Data problems a Spark environment
  • You have experience in using version control software an advantage (e.g. Git, Azure DevOps etc.)
  • Ideally have experience with real time systems like Kafka and experience with Kubernetes
  • You are structured in code development and annotation, ensuring usability for others
  • Experience in data visualization tool PowerBI is an advantage.
  • You are comfortable working through problems and can demonstrate the ability to change
    and adapt as our ‘start up’ grows.
  • You are a self-starter and able to work either as part of a team or independently to meet
    deadlines.
  • You have sound interpersonal skills and enjoy collaborating with others
  • You have excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills, with well structured and analytical approach.

Location: London or within reasonable travel distance, typically 1 day per fortnight in office.
