About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing data science team in a business, which is disrupting the industry.

What You’ll Do 

•    Develop a range of machine learning models via the full lifecycle process {business understanding, feature engineering, prototyping, training, evaluation}
•    Work with the engineering team to deploy accepted models
•    Analyse data and generate sound statistical information to identify trends and patterns 
•    Work collaboratively with the engineering, platform, product, and wider business teams
•    Work within a DataOps framework
•    Develop code using software engineering principles such as version control, reusable code and testing


About You

•    You are comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity and can demonstrate the ability to change and adapt as our ‘start up’ grows
•    You have a degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering or similar (Masters or PHD an advantage)
•    You have an in depth experience and knowledge of the model creation process
•    You enjoy and have experience working on Big Data problems (ideally in a Spark environment)
•    Experience in using version control software an advantage (e.g. Git, Azure DevOps etc.)
•    Proficient in building machine learning models in Python
•    If you have some knowledge of PySpark, this will be an advantage
•    You have sound interpersonal skills and enjoy collaborating with others
•    You have excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills, with well-structured and analytical approach 
•    You are structured in code development and annotation, ensuring usability for others
•    You are highly commercially aware, particularly in prioritising time

Location: London, typically 2/3 days per week in office

Type: Permanent/ FTE

Hours: 9 am – 6pm Monday – Friday with one hour for lunch (40 hours per week)
