About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a collaborative and curious graduate (in mathematics, statistics or computer science, or another quantitative discipline) to get hands on commercial project experience within state-of-the-art cloud computing platform in the Microsoft Azure Framework 

  • You will work on products such as Safer Play and Data Driven Design. Safer Play uses advanced ML modelling technology which allows for real-time detection of gambling markers of harm, which allows gaming operators to act quickly and decisively to reduce harm on their sites.  
  • You will get exposure to how we develop a range of machine learning models via the full lifecycle process {business understanding, feature engineering, prototyping, training, evaluation} 
  • You will work collaboratively with the engineering, platform, product and wider business teams 

About You 

  • You have a degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering or similar (Masters or PHD an advantage)  
  • You understand and can demonstrate knowledge of general data science frameworks including: data cleaning; feature extraction/ engineering; clustering, classification and regression. 
  • You have knowledge of common ML models: linear regression, logistic regression, decisions trees, random forecasts etc 
  • You have knowledge of data preprocessing -wrangling 
  • You have strong programming skills in any of the following preferred programming languages: Python, Pyspark, R, SQL, Scala 
  • Ideally, it would be great if you have knowledge and experience in the following: 
  • Azure/ AWS/ Google CloudYou enjoy and have experience working on Big Data problems (ideally in a Spark environment) 
  • Database knowledge including: Relational/ NoSQL database; Graph database 
  • BI/ Data visualisation (PowerBI/ Tableau) 
  • You have sound interpersonal skills and enjoy collaborating with others 
  • You have excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills, with well-structured and analytical approach 
     

Location: London, typically 1/2 days per week in office (Currently fully remote due to Covid) 

Type: Fixed Term 3-month contract (30 - 40 hours per week) from 1 July – 30 September 

Allowance: £1,250 per month
